Puerto Limón On "Work To Rule"
My magic or slight of hand, the government somehow found the way to pay the workers of the Junta de Administración Portuaria y de Desarrollo Económico de la Vertiente Atlántica (Japdeva) and avoid a dock workers strike that would have paralyzed the Port of Limón.
 

Dock workers at the Puerto Limón are now on "work to rule", waiting for the government to pay them arrears based on a Collective Agreement in 2005. The government agreed last month to pay the workers but said it did not have the money. Yesterday, the government announced a miraculous find of the ¢470 million colones in the coffers of JAPDEVA.
