Panama Firearms Crackdown
Over 75 thousand illegal firearms are thestreets increasing violence in Panama, asserted Deputy Juan Hernandez Monday.

However a multidisciplinary commission working on the bill to regulate possession considers the figure higher, assured the legislator.

To combat that situation the National Arms Board will be created to register all types of armament coming into the country, he noted.

The new regulation will also establish a rise in fines for illegal possession and the permanent license withdrawal.

To obtain a firearms license it will be necessary to pass DNA and psychological testing, be 21 years of age and prove effective management.
