Honduras Child Abuse Alarming
A poll in Honduras by Gallup
firm, financed by the
International Labor
Organization, revealed there
Monday that thousands of boys
and girls are sexually abused in
public places.
Rosa Corea, national coordinator
of the ILO s International
Program for the Elimination of
Child Labor (IPEC), unveiled
dramatic results in child sexual
abuse.
According to the investigations,
a well-attended night club in
the outskirts of the capital
appears as one of the public
centers where children are
sexually abused. Such places are
well known by Honduran
authorities and the population.
Corea pointed out the situation
is alarming, and called for
authorities and the people to
become aware of the issue,
adding it is the responsibility
of the government to stop that
situation and create better
living conditions for the
population.
