9-11 Children Help in
Talamanca
The children of the
Indian village of
Suretka, in Talamanca,
Costa Rican Southern
Caribbean, have
benefited from the visit
of 18 U.S. teenagers who
lost one of their
parents in the September
11, 2001, terrorist
attack in New York.
While promoting peace
and the rejection of
terrorism, the
activities of the 9-11
children also help them
overcome their own
traumas and sooth their
suffering.
Laughter, sign language,
and embraces were the
regular fare for the
Bribri Indian children
and their visitors, who
developed several
activities for the
benefit of the village. |
