Costa Rica remains a choice destination for tourists and the arrival of visitors surpasses even official expectations.

During this year’s first six months, the number of visitors arriving by air was 832,604, 50,258 more than in the same period last year.

This figure means a 6.42 percent increase on the same period in 2006.

The data was disclosed by the Camara Nacional de Turismo (CANATUR) - National Chamber of Tourism - based on data from both Juan Santamaria International (San José) Airport , in Alajuela, and Daniel Oduber International Airport, in Liberia.
