Fidel, Raul and Hugo Meet
Many photos were published today of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez visiting his Cuban counterpart Fidel Castro, recovering after intestinal surgery.

Granma newspaper included eight images of Fidel and Chavez talking in the presence of Raul Castro while the former takes notes and drinks a liquid.

The three hour visit included stories, laughter, photos and a light lunch, and Chavez said it was "the best visit I"ve ever made in my life."

He gave Fidel a cup that once belonged to Napolean Bonaparte from Simón Bolívar"s collection, and one of the lattter"s daggers. He also gave the Cuban leader a painting by José Antonio Quintero, a contemporary Venezuelan.

Raul, in turn, gave Chavez a portrait of Fidel by Mexican painter David Alfaro Sequeiros

Granma reported it was an unforgettable afternoon, shared by brothers of blood and common cause, and encouraged the war weary commander of a thousand battles to take a stand for a new victory for life.
