Summit Demands Integration
Bolivian
media highlighted the demands for integration
and respect to democracy presented Friday at the
17th Summit of the Community of Andean Nations,
which concluded Thursday in the southern city of
Tarija.
Local TV Channel 7 presented summaries of the
speeches of the presidents of Bolivia, Colombia,
Ecuador and Peru, in which they endorse the
importance of strengthening unity and highlight
the importance of the Tarija Declaration.
Bolivian News Agency emphasized the intention to
sign agreements in several areas and the best of
intentions to defend nature, fight climate
change and respect immigrants' rights.
Los Tiempos paper, from Cochabamba, comments on
results of the worktables and the perspectives
of fighting jointly against corruption and drug
traffic.
The two most important points of the document,
according to La Razon, are the opening of
negotiations with the European Union and Chile s
return to the bloc, as an associated country.
