Villalobos Investor "Assistance" Website Announced
Since 2002 the investors of Enrique Villalobos Camacho and Osvaldo Villalobos Camacho, known as "the Brothers", have been waiting, anxiously, ofr news of their investment.

At first, there was an expected hope that the case against the brothers would be resolved quickly. However, as time passed, many of the six thousand investors began to resign themselves to the fact that they would never see their money again.

One group, the United Concerned Citizens & Residents (UCCR), kept the fire burning, bringing together a group of investors who maintain a hope that one day, once all the legal processes are cleared, Enrique will honour his word of paying everybody back.

Five years later, Enrique's whereabouts are still unknown and Osvaldo is sitting in jail, waiting out the appeal period before his 18 years sentence is confirmed.

Many investors, though, feel that this is only a stone in the road, a road that will lead to getting their money back.

The latest news is the appearance of a website that, according to the UCCR, is authorized by Enrique Villalobos.

The website is being hosted in Panama, however, the registration of the website is being held private, a tool used by many website owners to hide their identity from the world wide web. This practice is common among owners of adult and gambling websites.

The website www.assistoffice.info is a one page website that asks investors to register themselves to update their information. The registration can be done by internet or fax, however, the fax option "will remain on hold temporarily until we have more certainty about the result of the judicial process...".

The website instructs investors to used the "preferred and most secure option" - the internet - to update their information. However, the "internet" link does not point to a 'https://' page.

Https is a URL scheme used to indicate a secure HTTP connection. It is syntactically identical to the http:// scheme normally used for accessing resources using HTTP. Using an https: URL indicates that HTTP is to be used, but with additional encryption/authentication layer between the HTTP and TCP. This system was designed to provide authentication and encrypted communication and is widely used on the World Wide Web for security-sensitive communication such as payment transactions and corporate logons.

Private information not sent by way of Https, is vulnerable and can be intercepted by anyone connected to the internet.

The assistoffice.info website asks those who register to keep they passwords in a safe place and explains the process of how to fill out the internet form.

Once registered, the user is assured that their information is "safe" and are asked to visit the page for updated information.

Quoting scriptures, the website, however, does not provide information of when investors can expect to be paid or anything else related to their investment.

Users of the website are cautioned to provide their private and confidential information online.
