Venezuela to Supply Cheap Fuel to US Needy
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has offered to supply oil at subsidized prices to poor US sectors to protect them from the severe winter, since their government refused to provide them with vital services.

According to Znet electronic magazine, those poor citizens need that help, even though some territories like Alaska, the second most-important oil-extracting state after Texas and the eighth regarding natural gas, have sufficient natural resources.

Government authorities in Alaska, with only something more than 600,000 inhabitants, also count on a permanent fund of 34 billion dollars and a reserve budget surpassing two billion dollars, it reported.

To the hundreds of New Yorkers gathered in a church in Harlem, President Chavez announced that the Citgo Venezuelan Company is planning to increase its natural gas supplies, including subsidized sales and donations to poor US citizens.

After providing detailed information on the supplies to 17 US states, Chavez confirmed that the gas consignments would increase from 40 million gallons, sent last winter, to 100 million this winter.

Social organizations announced that the humanitarian program would extend to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland and cities like Washington, Pittsburg and Pennsylvania.
