Braulio Carrillo Closed Sat & Sun Morning
If planning to travel to the Caribbean coast, plan ahead, because the the Braulio Carrillo highway will be closed this morning (Saturday) and Sunday. The MOPT is taking the time to paint lanes on the roadway, work that started in Heredia some weeks ago.

MOPT officials say that the work from Río Frío to the Cruce de Santa Elena will require a complete closure of the highway, unlike the other work that was carried out while keeping the highway partially opened.

The highway will be opened at 1pm and then at 6pm traffic will be regulated to allow completion of the work.

The MOPT says that the work is not only to paint the lanes but to add reflectors to the road and new signs. This will offer drivers better night visibility and security.
