Legislator Tinoco Is "My Nightmare"
The woman who as sexually harassed by Legislative Assembly deputy Federico Tinoco has kept her identify hidden from the public, but not he story. Last night, the first seven minutes of air time of Teletica's 7pm newscast was used to allow the woman, shading her identity from the cameras, to tell he story.

Earlier this week, the woman had come forward to the media to tell the story of how, as an employee of the Legislative Assembly, she was sexually harassed by one of the male legislators. HOwever, she did not name the legislator.

For a couple of days, rumours were abound. Who could it be? Though insiders knew pretty much who the legislator was and was pressured to come forward, to clear the name of the legislative body.

Federico Tinoco did just that. And on Wednesday he stood on the legislative floor to address his fellow legislator and tell the story of how the rumours were all out of proportion and how he was grossly misunderstood.

Tinoco said that the woman had misinterpreted him and mistook his aggressive style for harassment.

The woman, feeling that she was being the victim fought back and with the help of woman's rights movement leader and former legislator, Gloria Valerín, she came out publicly to tell her story, of how Tinoco had orchestrated to be together on a business trip to the province of Limón.

The woman, who is married and mother, said that she is hurt that Tinoco is making it as if he is the victim and has said that formal charges will be filed with the Tribunals.

The woman, on national television, told of how the legislator hired to go work for him at the beginning of his term on May 1 and that he would frequently find ways to be alone with her after the end of the work day.

She said she kept quiet after the first incident when she felt uncomfortable around Tinoco and had related the story to her husband, telling him everything that was happening at work.

"I thought I could manage the situation, and always kept my husband informed of what was happening", said the woman.

With sobs in her voice, the woman said that when the legislator began to touch her offensivly, asking for massages, that became uncomfortable. "When he tried to kiss me, I would move away. That is when I thought this could explode at any moment", said the woman.

In the onair interview, the woman told Teletica's reporter, Natalia Romero, of how she went public after she was fired. She wanted her story to be known because there other women who have been or are being harassed by the legislator. However, it wasn't until Tinoco went public that she decided to file formal charges.

With her husband on her side, she related of the nightmare that her life has become after going to work for the legislator and the nightmare she is living now. Asked what she would say to Tinoco if she were to be face to face with him, she answered "nothing, I would just turn and walk away."

The woman ended the interview saying that she is afraid of Tinoco and fears retributions, however, she is moving ahead with the charges and hopes to be back working in the legislature in the future.
