Ortega, Most Serious Contender
PLC presidential candidate
(Liberal Constitutional Party)
Jose Rizo recognized on Thursday
that former President Daniel
Ortega, of the Nicaragua
Triumphs/FSLN alliance, is his
strongest electoral rival.
Rizo ranks third in voter
intention, after Sandinista
leader Ortega, and Eduardo
Montealegre, of the Liberal
Alliance for Nicaragua.
However, the governing party s
representative dismissed the
poll results because, in his
opinion, they are tricky
propaganda to try to mislead the
public.
In remarks on local radio, Rizo
ruled out giving up running for
the country s presidency,
despite the surveys giving him
scant popularity.
