Nicaragua Doubts May Favor
Ortega
The fear of keeping the same
party in power for too long a
period, which marked Daniel
Ortega s defeat, could be
reverted 16 years later to favor
his return to power, analyst
Oscar Rene Vargas said in this
capital on Thursday.
According to the recognized
Nicaraguan psychologist, three
days before the presidential and
legislative elections the
situation is very similar to
that over 15 years ago.
"At that time the Sandinista
National Liberation Front (FSLN)
government did not offer any
change to the situation the
Nicaraguans were experiencing,
thus I predicted his electoral
defeat," Vargas told Prensa
Latina.
For the expert, the rightwing
governments that have taken
power in the last 16 years are
only offering now to keep the
same party in power for a long
time, according to their
neoliberal policies, and this
panorama could lead voters to
the FSLN candidate.
