Insurance Rates Increased for 2007
Driving in Costa Rica got more expensive yesterday as the state monopoly on insurance, the Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS), announced increases in its insurance rates for 2007, which are between 6% and 34%, depending on the type of vehicle.

Less Sulfur in Diesel, Report Recommends
The majority of buses, heavy duty trucks and an important number of passenger vehicles use diesel fuel, one of the major contaminators because of the high level of sulfur content, according to a report by the Universidad Nacional (UNA) that was presented to the Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep).

Sentencing Postponed for Phony Doctor
Dean Faiello, the phony doctor who hid  the body of a NYC banker and fled to Costa Rica, before returning and confessing to her death is expected to get 20 years prison. The sentencing of Dean Faiello was adjourned this morning until December 4.
