Hondurans Concerned on Drug
Trafficking
Inhabitants of the Honduran
Department of Olancho, 186 miles
east of the capital Tuesday
denounced an increase on
drug-trafficking activities in
that area.
Neighbors of the place assure
that drug-traffickers are not
using clandestine landing strips
already denounced to the
authorities anymore. The new
variant is to throw the charge
from the air because there is
always somebody awaiting it on
earth.
Fight against Drug-trafficking
Direction estimates that
networks operating in Honduras
use nearly 100 landing strips
located in the national
territory.
In relation to them, Head of
Olancho's Preventive National
Police Rolando Herrera Zelaya,
asserted they are taking some
measures in order to counteract
such illegal acts.
Governor Domingo Montalvan
Galeas confirmed he would send a
letter to Security Minister
Alvaro Romero so that he
intervenes in ending up with the
phenomenon seriously affecting
local population and especially
youth.
