Venezuela Wary of US Hawks
Ten days after the President Hugo Chavez electoral victory with almost 63 percent of the votes Venezuela is expecting for the facts to work out Washington s confused declarations on the intended bilateral links.

The first vagueness appeared shortly after release of the electoral results that prove the popular majority support of Chavez.

"We congratulate the Venezuelan people for having held successful democratic elections", said the White House spokesman Tony Snow while the State Undersecretary Thomas Shannon declared similarly after.

The lack of recognition for the winner was balanced with Shannon s further declarations on the intention to improve relations with Venezuela compare to what the US ambassador William Brownfield said here.

After been questioned on the perspective of the relations starting from Shannon expression The Venezuelan Vice President Jose Vicente Rangel clarified that his country is expecting for "a letter of good behaviour" from the US government.

"We never know where the US policies are coming from," warned Rangel for whom any action Washington makes more flexible in relation to Latin America is due mainly to the advance of the popular democratic movements and the establishment of elections.

"All of these must worry the old US leadership particularly the hawks of US politics", stressed the Venezuelan Vice President.

The Vice President of the Venezuelan Republic and Chavez ratified their will to hold talks with US in order to solve the differences but under the conditions of respect to the national sovereignty.
