"113" Information Directory
Calls Will Cost Tomorrow
Beginning
tomorrow, calls to 113 -
information directory - will no
longer be free of charge.
Beginning tomorrow, all calls to
113 will cost ˘4.10 colones per
minutefor calls made between 7am
and 7pm from Monday to Friday -
peak hours - and only ˘2 colones
at other times. The cost of
calling 113 was originally set
at ˘28.8 colones per 3 minute
call.
During the past 12 months, ICE
suspended charging calls to 113
as it did not publish a
telephone directory in 2005,
following a contract dispute
with Verizon, who had been
publishing telephone directories
in Costa Rica for some years.
ICE was finally able to publish
a telephone directory for 2006
and as such will now begin
charging those who prefer to
call for the information rather
than looking it up in the book.
Telephone directories are
traditionally delivered from
home to home by the Crus Roja
(Red Cross) on a voluntary
basis. If you did not receive
the 2006 directory to your home
or place of business, you can
get one at any ICE telephone
office.
