Arenal Spewed Out Molten Rock and Ash
Not to be outdone by the Poás, the Volcán Arenal spewed out molten rocks and incandescent ash, along the western face of the volcano, located in La Fortuna de San Carlos northwest of the Central Valley.

According to the Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico Nacional (Ovsicori), the volcano activity was registered at 10am Sunday morning. No one was affected by the volcanic eruption.

"The molter fluid and ash flowed close to the active cone of the volcano, which increased the flow of lava. These types of flows are common." was information released by the Ovsicori in a press statement.

The experts say that no material change was caused by the eruption, neither to the infrastructure of the volcano nor affecting the visitors to the area.

"It is necessary to respect the regulations by the Comisión Naciona de Emergencias (CNE) around the Volcán Arenal" was the advisory issued by Ovsicori, who affirms that several times a year there is increased fluid activity at the volcano.

Ovsicori also said that yesterday's event at the Arenal has no relation with the recent activity at the Poás.
