Heavy Traffic Expected for End
of Vacation Weekend
This is the closing weekend for
the mid year school break and
the Policía de Transito promises
to be out in full force.
A total of 775 Transit officials
will be available for duty
during the weekend, as
vacationers head back home, to
the Central Valley from the
beach, mountain and forest
areas.
Juan Manuel Delgado, director at
Tránsito, says that as many as
600.000 vacationers could be on
the highways this weekend and
Transit officials will be there
with road checks to pull off the
road those who've consumed too
much alcohol, that drivers are
wearing their seatbelts and
control speeding.
Areas around Jacó Beach, Orotina,
Monte del Aguacate, and the
airport will be area with major
Transit police concentration.
Delgado is asking all drivers to
slow down this weekend and don't
drink and drive. There will be
some changes in the flow of
traffic like around the airport
to make movement easier.
