HellFire in La Uruca !
A voracious fire consumed pretty much what was one the old Canada Dry/
Pepsi factory in La Uruca, in front of the Best Western Irazú hotel,
west of San José.
Few Were Able to See the Eclipse
Cloud cover over San José and
most Costa Rica kept most from viewing the solar eclipse that occurred
yesterday afternoon over the southern part of Costa Rica.
High Cost of Gasoline Lowers Demand
A report in today's edition of
the Spanish language newspaper, La Nación, says that the high
cost of gasoline has decreased the demand by as much as 15% to 20% in
the first three months of this year, compared to the same period in
2004.
President Pacheco Close to Tears
President
Abel Pacheo admitted in the Vatican that he was deeply moved on seeing
the corpse of Pope John Paul II.
Costa Rican Red Cross: 120 years
In 1885, because of fears of
war, then President Bernardo Soto decreed the establishment of a Red
Cross chapter in Costa Rica.
