Board Uses Visitor Tax To
Attract More Tourists
The Instituto Costarricense de
Turismo (ICT) - Costa Rica's
Tourism Board - said it will be
spending up to us$20 million
dollars this year to attract
more visitors, with the
publicity campaign to be
financed by the tax on tickets
paid by visitors coming to Costa
Rica.
Crack At Turrialbla
Volcano Getting Larger, Experts Say
Upon closer inspection, experts of the
Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) say that the
enormous crater of the Turrialba volcano has
gotten larger following last week's
activity, which will in turn cause
landslides within the crater, which in turn
could mean more eruptions.

Chinchilla is a comfortable frontrunner

Authority said on Thursday it awarded a $268
million excavation contract to a consortium

Circus Protest In El Salvador
SAN SALVADOR - Members of the group ecoveg.net held a protest on Saturday against circuses and the use of wild animals in captivity. One of the protesters from ecoveg.net said that they wanted to make people, especially children, aware that animals should freely and in their natural environment.
