Former Boston Man Slain in Costa Rica
The last time Jonathan Scibeck saw his father was on Dec. 27, when he dropped him off at a hotel near Logan Airport so he could catch a flight to Costa Rica.

John Joseph Scibeck told his son he should not expect to talk to him again until March. The 67-year-old retired car salesman planned to be reachable only by e-mail while he stayed at a little villa in Playa Potrero, where he would be spending the winter months.
