New Bolivian
Parliament to Implement the Constitution
LA PAZ - Bolivian Vice President Alvaro
Garcia stated that the first Pluri-National
Legislative Assembly, to be established on
January 22, must implement the new
Constitution, the first approved by the
popular will. "The aim of the Assembly is
the implementation of the new Political
Constitution of the State and make a big
industrial step needed for our development,"
stressed Garcia.
According to the vice president, the supreme
law favours the creation of new
institutions, like the Attorney General of
the State or the new autonomous State, and
make changes in others, like the Judicial
Power or the administration of the education
in Bolivia.
Garcia said that it also gives more rights
to the people in sectors such as health,
education, work, food, and transport.
"Those rights must be implemented with
resources and procedures already
established," noted the vice president.
Regarding the "big industrial step," Garcia
held that Bolivia needs a radical change in
its economic structure for reaching
development.
"The Bolivian State controls 30 percent of
the Gross Domestic Product. We received a
country that only controlled the 17 percent
of the GDP" Said Garcia. |
