Costa Rica
Reports First Swine Flu Death
A 53 year old man, a musician from San
Antonio de Coronado, is the first fatality
from the swine flu. The ministra de Salud,
María Luisa Ávila, confirmed that the man
died at 0:20am Saturday.
Seven
Other Confirmed Cases of Swine Flu Out of
Danger
The ministerio
de Salud reports that the remaining seven
confirmed cases of A/H1N1 flu are out of
danger and are at home with their families.
Flu Continues
to Expand Reach
The number of
confirmed H1N1 influenza cases climbed to
2,254 in 44 states and Washington, D.C., the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
said Saturday. In Costa Rica, the
first death outside North America was
reported.

The
Consejo Superior del Poder Judicial has
ordered judges to inform victims of domestic
violence about their right to seek out the
services of shelters run by the Instituto
Nacional de las Mujeres (Inamu) - the
national institute for women.
