Cellular Frenzy Is On
Beginning this morning the state monopoly on telecommunicatoins, the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), begins selling off 40.000 GSM cellular telephone lines. They are lines coming back to ICE for non-payment or customers simply giving up their subscriptions.


A drunken spree by a couple in Escazú yesterday stirred a commotion that resulted in two parked cars being hit and the plaza security guard shooting out their tire to prevent them from fleeing before police arrived. Even their dog was found drunk.

A tremendous commotion began in Country Plaza in Escazú yesterday when a couple who appeared drunk slammed into two parked cars, intoxicated their dog and found having sex in the vehicle by a private guard.

BCR To Issue Drivers Licenses
A Driver's License in 15 minutes? Impossible? An agreement reached between the Banco de Costa Rica (BCR) and the Ministerio de Obras Pública y Transportes (MOPT) that goes into effect next month will reduce the waiting time for obtaining a drivers license to minutes instead of the hours it can take now.
