Panamanians Go For Alternative Movement
Panamanian social, student and trade union
organizations are championing a popular movement
based on the principles of the Bolivarian
Alternative for the Americas (ALBA).
The secretary general of the University of
Panama, Miguel Angel Candanedo, said that the
founding assembly of the United Peoples Movement
for Our Americas will be held on Saturday, when
the statutes and principles of the organization
will be approved.
The movement is to create an alternative for our
peoples, inspired by the ideals of Latin
American heroes like Simon Bolivar, Jose Marti
and Augusto Cesar Sandino, the academic said.
Candanedo noted the importance of ALBA, as
expressed at the summit meeting held recently in
Barquisimeto, Venezuela. |
