A cold front from the north has
brought strong cold winds to the
Central Valley since late last
night and has caused damage in
various areas, including cutting
power to parts of Heredia and
San José.

The number of infected with
falciparum malaria - the most
dangerous of the malaria that
has the highest rates of
complications and mortality -
