Canuck Day Announced For June 27

Canadians and Friends of Canadians are invited to join in the celebration of Canada’s 142nd birthday organized by the Canadian Club of Costa Rica at the end of June.

Members, non-members, new and old friends are all invited to enjoy the festivities taking place at Club Campestre Español in La Ribera de Belén in the province of Heredia on Saturday, June 27th from 10am until 4pm.

Doors open at 10am, ceremonies begin at 11:30am, and cake-cutting at 1pm.

The fun includes swimming, soccer, face-painting, bouncy castles, mini-golf, tennis, pool tables, cribbage games, a grand tug-o-war, and much more.

Bring your swimsuit and enjoy the 2 heated pools and hot tub. Free time from 1pm until 4pm is a great time to use the facilities.

The delicious menu features classic cookout food followed by the traditional red & white Maple Leaf Canadian Birthday Cake. Entertainment, games, dancing, door prizes, and a 50/50 drawing complete the day’s activities.

Advance ticket purchase is required: ¢7.500 adults, ¢6.000 children (includes hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, salads, ice cream, a non-alcoholic beverage, and birthday cake.)

For ticket purchase and more information on the Canada Day celebration, contact the Out of Bounds Hotel/Tourist Center, Escazú at 2288-6762 [email protected] or the Association of Residents of Costa Rica (ARCR)-Casa Canada, San José at 2233-8068.

The Canadian Club was established in Costa Rica in 1997 as both a social club for the ex-pat community, and a conduit for charitable outreach activities. Our main areas of assistance throughout the country are: schools, daycare centers, senior housing, abandoned elderly, and indigenous programs.
