No Change in US-Cuba Policy
Buenos Aires - Spanish
musician Luis Eduardo Aute affirmed in
Buenos Aires Thursday there is little change
in US policy towards Cuba and condemned the
travel restrictions imposed by Washington on
Cuban artists.
It's deplorable that the US
government still maintains this restriction, Aute said when referring to the US State
Department refusal to allow Cuban
singer-song writer Sylvio Rodriguez to enter
that country.
In an interview published by Telam news
agency, the fine artist said "Silvio was at
my home a few days ago awaiting the visa",
Asute continued to say that this would have
been a good opportunity for the US to show
changes in it's policy towards Cuba.
Rodriguez was invited to perform in the
celebrations to honor the legendary folk
musician US Pete Seeger on his 90th
birthday, but the US refused to grant him a
visa to enter the country.
