Jessica Umaña has been chosen as Miss Costa
Rica 2009 and is now Costa Rica's ambassador
of beauty. Jessica was crowned amid a
spectacular show at the Nacional del Museo
de los Niños auditorium in San Jose.
Amid the pomp and ceremony, the contestants
answered questions and displayed their
beauty in bathing suits and evening gowns.
Nancy Montero was prized for being the most
photogenic, while Jessica was give the
honour of having the best hair doo.
Before the crowning of Jessica, Miss Costa
Rica 2008, María Teresa Rodríguez, took her
last walk on stage.
Runners up in the competition were Nancy
Montero and Natalia Alvarez.
