Argentine President to
Arrive in Cuba

President Cristina
Fernandez is scheduled
to arrive in Cuba today
(Sunday) for her first
state visit to the
Caribbean island,
following an invitation
by Cuban President Raul
Castro.
Her visit will help
tighten current
friendship and
cooperation ties between
both governments and
people, the Granma
newspaper said on
Saturday.
Fernandez will hold
official talks with Raul
Castro and meet with
other Cuban top
officials, the press
release announced. Her
agenda includes touring
sites of economic,
historic and cultural
interest in Cuba.
Born in 1953, she is
married to Argentina’s
former president Nestor
Kirchner.
