Venezuela Condemns U.S.
Air Attack On Syria
CARACAS - Venezuela on
Thursday strongly
condemned a U.S. air
attack against the
Syrian border region of
al-Bukamal on Oct. 26.
In a statement, the
Venezuelan Foreign
Ministry urged the
international community
to "strongly reject
those actions that
violate law and demand
an immediate stop of
operations which are a
mock of the peaceful
coexistence principles."
The statement also
reaffirmed the
Venezuelan stance to
"support the initiatives
of the Syrian government
and its President Bashar
al-Assad to seek justice
within the framework of
international law due to
this barbaric act of the
U.S. government."
U.S. helicopters
reportedly launched an
attack on a building in
Al-Sukkariah village in
Abu Kamal town near the
Syrian border with Iraq
on Oct. 26, killing
eight civilians.
