Racsa Under Attack By Email Spammers
Had problems receiving emails yesterday? The Radiográfica Costarricense S.A. (Racsa), said the system collapsed Wednesday night and until the early hours of Thursday morning, following an increased volume of emails received from outside Costa Rica.

Racsa's Christopher Richardson explained that the system received a large number of 'paquets" in the way of an attack that led to Racsa's email system crash for five hours.

The emails came from Miami and once its source located they were blocked, said Richardson.

The majority of the emails problems were concentrated in the areas of San Pedro, Moravia, Guadalupe and Tibás and attacked mainly computers of large companies.
