Marchamos Paid So Far
If you, like many,
haven't done so yet, it
is time to pay the 2009
Marchamo. But, best shop
around first, for
financial institutions
are offering all sorts
of incentives to get
your Marchamo colones.
According to the latest
figures by the Instituto
Nacional de Seguros
(INS) only 134.134
Marchamos of the close
to one million have been
paid.
Payment can be made at
one of the 1.036
collection points that
include state and
private banks, credit
unions, authorized INS
insurance agencies and
INS offices directly.
Some banks, like the
Banco de Costa Rica,
offers its customers to
pay their Marchamo
online, avoiding the
usual long lines at the
bank's branches, and as
a bonus will deliver the
sticker to their home or
place of business free
of charge.
At the private bank,
Scotiabank, it will
deposit an amount equal
to 10% of the Marchamo
to its customers bank
account. Other banks and
financial institutions
are offering draws for
gifts and even the cost
of the Marchamo.
Whatever your choice or
decision, the Marchamo
is payable by December
31. The Policia de
Tránsito say they will
not give a grace period
and beginning on January
01, they will be
ticketing all drivers
without their 2009
Marchamo.

you own on your vehilce
go to the INS website
www.ins-cr.com
and by simply typing in
the license plate number
and type of your
vehicle, the amount owed
will be displayed. |
