Circunvalación - Hatillo Detour Begins Today
Traffic on the Circunvalación will get worse before it gets better as the Ministerio de Obras Publicas y Transportes (MOPT) has announced a detour between Hatillo 6 and 8 to commence construction on an overpass for the new road to Escazú.

The detour is some 400 metres north of the Mas X Menos on the Circunvalación and affect, for now, only traffic from San Sebastián to Pavas.

The work is to built and overpass to allow traffic to move from Bello Horizonte de Escazú to La Sabana, with a completion date expected by the end of 2009.

The new Escazú access road is being built by the Autopistas del Sol, the same contractor who is currently working on the Caldera highway.
