5.2 Earthquake Hits
Guatemala
GUATEMALA - A 5.2
Richter scale earthquake
hit Sunday a large part
of Guatemala, mainly the
west region, causing no
casualties or damage.
The earthquake took
place at 8:25 local time
(1425 GMT) and its
epicenter was in the
southwest of Guatemala,
the National Institute
of Seismology,
Vulcanology, Meteorology
and Hydrology said.
According to information
reaching here from
Guatemala City, the
earthquake felt stronger
in Quetzaltenango, San
Marcos, Solola,
Totonicapan, Mazatenango
and Retalhuleu.
The Civil Protection
authorities said the
earthquake did not cause
casualties or damage.
