condemns assassination
of three policemen
Argentine President
Nestor Kirchner on
Friday condemned the
assassination of three
policemen in Buenos
Aires early Friday.
Kirchner linked the
assassination to his
human rights policy and
the general elections,
slated to be held on
October 28th.
He said these acts
usually occur days prior
to elections and "it
would be strange that
they occurred casually."
"I want to express my
deep repudiation and
alert," Kirchne said,
demanding an immediate
investigation into the
case.
There so far still
"lacks evidence to trace
the criminals," Buenos
Aires' Security Ministry
sources told Xinhua.
The three policemen were
killed early Friday when
they rode a car
patrolling a
communication center of
the Security Ministry,
located in La Plata some
60 km south of the
Argentine capital. Their
weapons disappeared
after the incident.
