Venezuela to Aid
Nicaragua Recover From
Rain Damages
A high-rank delegation
of the Venezuelan
government arrived in
Managua to evaluate the
damage caused by
torrential rains in
Nicaragua, and to
determine the kind of
aid Nicaraguans need.
Infrastructure Minister
Jose David Cabello, the
head of the body of
engineers of the Army
Gen. Noel Grisanti
Housing Vice-minister
Edith Gomez figure as
part of the delegation,
led by Foreign Minister
Nicolas Maduro.
Count on the committed,
militant, generous and
humanist solidarity of
President Hugo Chavez,
Maduro announced at his
arrival this Friday at
Augusto C. Sandino
international airport,
Managua.
Venezuelan diplomacy
leader said that the
delegation will make its
evaluation on the basis
of the report Nicaraguan
authorities will
present.
The assistance of
Caracas was committed by
Chavez, as a result of
the damages caused by
the intense rains of the
last days in west
Nicaragua, with at least
nine people dead and
more than 13,000 victims
reported.
The Head of State
communicated by phone
with his Nicaraguan
colleague Daniel Ortega,
to get interested in the
situation, and to
promise all the
assistance needed to
cover damages.
