Cuba Urges World
Parliament Support
against Blockade
Cuba has requested
support from parliaments
worldwide against the US
economic, commercial and
financial blockade
against the Island.
The call was adopted by
members of the National
Assembly of the People's
Power (Parliament)
Foreign Relations
Permanent Committee
during a special session
on Friday attended by
President of the Cuban
Parliament Ricardo
Alarcon.
The application of this
economic war of
genocide, as well as
other forms of
aggression as part of an
open, long-standing
policy of State
terrorism, has caused
thousands of victims to
the Cuban population and
is detrimental to their
most basic right to
life, the text says.
In the document, the
legislators noted that
the plan to destroy the
Cuban Revolution,
approved in May 2004 by
President George W.
Bush, intensified
pressure and sanctions
against governments,
banks and businesses
from third countries.
