Costa Rica will be host to the Centroamérica Travel Market fair that will be held at the Meliá Cariari hotel between October 11 and 13.

During the fair, European tourism operators will be visiting the exposition of some 135 tourism operators from the region, specializing in recreation, tranportation, resorts and hotels to offer their products and services.

Gonzalo Vargas, president of the Cámara Costarricense de Turismo (Canatur), explained that goal is to attract a greater number of European tourists.

"Participating in this fair will open doors for Costa Rica to the European market", said Vargas.

The Central America Travel Market 2007 (CATM2007) explains that the fair is to promote the region as highly competitive tourist multiple destination in the international range and attract more international tourists to Central America, in order to increase the benefits generated in terms of employment, income, and local development in Central America.
