US Diversity Visa 2009 Lottery Begins Today
For Costa Ricans wanting to live and work in the United States, today is the day, when the Diversity Visa (DV) 2009 Lottery begins at noon and ends on December 2, 2007.

The Entry Form can only be submitted online by visiting the U.S. Department of State website.

There is no cost and not need for an intermediary for process and complete instructions for filling out the form are included on the website.

The U.S. Embassy in Costa Rica has made it clear that it has no relation to the process and that all those interested must do so online and will not accept written applications.

Each year, 50,000 immigrant visas are made available through a lottery to people who come from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. None of these visas are available for people who come from countries that have sent more than 50,000 immigrants to the United States in the past five years.

Costa Rica is one of the countries whose residents are eligible under the DV2009 lottery.
