Gasoline Consumption Up Despite High Prices
Gasoline prices are higher than ever, but it hasn't stopped drivers, in fact the latest report indicates an even higher use.

According to the Refinadora Costarricense de Petróleo (RECOPE) - the state monopoly on refining and distribution of gasoline products - sales during the month of September were up 10% over the period last year.

RECOPE said it distributed some 14 million barrels of gasoline products last month, almost one and half million barrels more than it did in September of 2006.

The refinery says that the greatest increase in consumption was in diesel fuel.
