Panama Calls Alternative Summit
Different Panamanian organizations called for a
Social Alternative Summit parallel to the
General Assembly of the Organization of American
States (OAS) that will be held in this capital
in June.
The summit will be from June 3 to 4, sponsored
by the Movement of Peoples United for Our
America, Panama chapter.
"The meeting is aimed at raising our peoples
voice on different interesting items," added the
text.
A debate will take place at the same time of the
summit, at Panama University and a Public
gallery, near ATLAPA Convention Center,
Headquarters of OAS meeting.
The Forum will tackle items such as the US
invasion of Iraq, OAS role, energy problems,
climate change, human and social rights in the
region and integration and development models
like the Bolivarian Alternative of the Americas.
