Small and Medium Sized Businesses Have
Opportunity To Develop Environmental Projects
A Central American commission is offer small to
medium sized business an opportunity to develop
environmental projects.
The Centro de Gestión Tecnológica e Informática
Industrial (CEGESTI) is offering up to
us$500.000 to companies who comply with their
progrma.
Costa Rica has some 84.000 companies, of which
75% are micro to small businesses.
CEGESTI offers these small companies funding to
purchase equipment friendly to the environment,
capital to finance work projects and training
for cleaner production methods.
The commission is aiming to guarantee better
environmental conditions and reduce the amount
of water, energy and dangerous substances in the
production process.
In addition the Ministerio de Economía (economy
ministry) is offer help to small business to
help develop a plan before applying to the
CEGESTI program.
CEGESTI is a private, independent and non-profit
organization, founded in 1990 with the purpose
of promoting and supporting the competitive
position of the productive sector in Costa Rica
and other Latin American countries, by offering
integrated consultancy services, training,
research and information to private and public
enterprises, universities, technology-based
companies and government organizations.
