Cuba Says Bush Time Up
The Cuban government denounced Friday the links between the Bush administration and the anti-Cuban terrorist Mafia in Miami, "proved by the freeing of Luis Posada Carriles."

"This new action is congruent with a government that denied deporting Posada Carriles to Cuba or Venezuela because, according to it, he could be tortured in our countries," states an official declaration published by "Granma" newspaper today.

Posada Carriles is the confessed mastermind of the mid-air explosion of Cuban airplane with 73 people on board in 1976 and a series of bomb attacks in Havana hotels in 1997, killing an Italian tourist, among other terrorist actions.

"Washington," states the text, "has illegally taken a portion of the Cuban territory in Guantanamo and maintains secret prisons throughout the planet, where the most aberrant and inhuman terrorist actions are being committed." With the decision of not declaring Posada Carriles as terrorist, that country has not only violated its own legislation and the Bush commitment in the self-proclaimed war against terrorism, the text states.

The US government should have tried Posada Carriles for terrorism, or granted the Venezuela request for extradition, which is still without response after two years, the document stressed.

"Time is almost over for Bush. He lost his last cjhance to show a bit of dignity, responsibility and ethics," the declaration emphasizes.
