Links of Posada Carriles with
Guatemala Denounced
The links and structures
established by terrorist Luis
Posada Carriles in Guatemala
years ago emerged to public
light in this capital, because
of the publishing of a US report
on his activities.
Main press media referred to a
document from the Federal Bureau
of Investigations this weekend
in which it is said Posada
received financial transfers in
1997 sent from New Jersey.
However, the terrorist's nexuses
date from 1961, when he
participated in the training of
mercenary troops to invade Cuba.
Posada recruited Guatemalan
María Elena González, Nader
Kamal Musalam - also known as
Miguel Abraham Herrera - and
Jazid Iván Fernández, to
introduce explosives in Havana.
The three of them are now in
prison in Cuba since 1998 for
this crime. On the other hand,
journalist Carlos Enrique Wer
remembered that during the years
1988 and 1989 Posada Carriles
acted as advisor of security in
state Guatemalan Company of
