Honduras, 15 Kidnappings in 2007
Honduras has reported 72
kidnappings since the late 2000,
including 15 this year, says the
Attorney General's office.
The latest victim was tradesman
Francisco Lopez, 85, and the
family had to pay a handsome sum
for his release.
Impunity prevails in view of the
thousands of denounces of
uninvestigated human rights
violations.

from the National University
rated Honduras as most violent
country of America in 2006 with
13 murders daily.
A total of 4,736 Hondurans had a
violent death in 2006, a rate of
72.5 per every thousand
inhabitant, adds the report.
