Operation Miracle Opens Salvadoran Eyes
Forty-three Salvadorians travelled to Cuba on Thursday to undergo eye surgery as part of Operation Miracle, a supportive program aimed at recovering or improving the vision of millions of people from Latin American.

Dr. Mario Gonzalez, the mayor of San Martin municipality, bordering the Salvadorian capital, told Prensa Latina that the impact of this initiative is growing in the country and many more people want to benefit from it.

According to the mayor, Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front is in charge of coordinating the selection of patients, either through the mayoralties or the party's municipal offices.

The only requirement is to be a low income person with a vision problem that can be solved through surgery of the program, such as cataracts, proud flesh, and drooping eyelids.

More than 2,700 Salvadorians have been assisted thanks to this cooperation program boosted by the Cuban and Venezuelan governments.
