Cement Truck Without
Brakes Slams Into Tour
Van
Traffic accidents
involving heavy vehicles
continues to make the
headlines, this time in
the area of Cambronero,
when a cement truck with
bad brakes slammed into
an Interbus van, leaving
three injured and
fortunately no
fatalities.
The accident occurred
some 200 metres of
Cristo Blanco, where the
driver of the van
carrying a number of
tourists, was trapped in
the wreckage for almost
an hour.
Susan Johan, an American
tourist, was one of the
injured as she and the
driver were taken to a
San Ramón hospital and
later transferred to the
Hospital México in San
José.
Nery Lomillol, another
tourist injured in the
crash, who suffered
bumps and bruises was
also taken to hospital
and released.
The accident was the
cause of a 5 kilometre
long traffic jam. |
