Zapote Fair Starts Tomorrow
If you are looking for something to do this week, don't forget the Zapote Fair that kicks off at noon tomorrow, with rides, foods, all types of entertainment and the bulls.

The Comisión Nacional de Emergencias, the Bomberos and the ministry of Health made their final inspections yesterday and gave the green light for the event.

Some 450 police officials will be on hand to maintain order.

The municipalidad de San José espects to take in ˘150 million colones during the Zapote fair that continues into the first week of January.

Last year the fair was cancelled when health officials did not give the approval, especially the bull ring that was deemed a complete risk.

This year, the fair will be sporting a newly constructed permanent bull ring that will be the focus of the event with the "toros a la tica" event, where amateurs stand in front of a bull and then run for their lives as the bull charges.
